The MQ7 Gas Sensor Module is a high-sensitivity semiconductor sensor developed for accurate detection of carbon monoxide (CO) gas. The sensing element contains a tin dioxide (SnO₂) sensitive layer whose resistance varies with exposure to CO. This change is processed to produce a proportional analog voltage and an optional digital trigger signal using an onboard LM393 comparator.

Operating from a 5V power supply, the module integrates a built-in heating element that allows cyclic heating for high CO selectivity. A potentiometer is provided to fine-tune the digital alarm threshold, supporting flexible adaptation to different environments and applications. With fast response time, long lifespan, and reliable performance, the MQ7 module is ideal for CO alarms, industrial safety, and smart IoT sensor systems.
