Product details
The LM393 Infrared Obstacle Avoidance Sensor Module is designed for detecting objects or obstacles using infrared light reflection. It features an IR transmitter and receiver pair, along with an LM393 voltage comparator circuit that processes the signal.
When an object comes within the sensing range, the IR light emitted by the transmitter reflects back to the receiver, and the LM393 comparator generates a corresponding output signal. The sensor provides both Analog Output (AO) — representing the intensity of reflected light — and Digital Output (DO) — indicating obstacle presence (HIGH/LOW).
An onboard potentiometer allows you to adjust the sensitivity or detection distance as needed. The module also includes indicator LEDs for power and obstacle detection status. It’s widely used in line-following robots, obstacle avoidance systems, and automatic control applications.
