The Flame Sensor Module is an infrared-based fire detection module designed to identify flames by sensing the IR radiation emitted from burning substances. It uses a highly sensitive IR receiver tuned to wavelengths typically produced by fire (around 760 nm – 1100 nm). The onboard comparator allows the output sensitivity to be adjusted using a potentiometer, enabling accurate flame detection in various environments.
The module supports both digital output (DO) for threshold-based flame detection and analog output (AO) on certain variants for proportional flame intensity measurement. It is widely used with development platforms such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other embedded systems. With its high sensitivity, fast response time, and compact size, the module is ideal for fire safety, robotics, and automatic extinguishing applications.
